Grampians Tours
Located at the western end of the Great Dividing Range, the magnificent Grampians National Park consists of around 170,000 acres of panoramic views so beautiful; it is enough to bring a tear to your eyes! Called Gariwerd by the local Indigenous people, the Grampians includes four ranges – Serra Range, Victoria Range, Mt Difficult Range and Mt William Range.
Within the Grampians, you’ll find lush primordial forests, soaring sandstone mountain peaks and escarpments, impressive crystal clear lakes and sparkling waterfalls. The National Park protects a plethora of flora and fauna – many of which are rare or endangered – and you can spot these by trekking along a variety of scenic walking tracks within the area. There are also a number of historical or sacred Indigenous sites open to visitors, which just adds to the magical atmosphere of this alluring beauty spot.
The Grampians are easily accessible from the nearby large towns of Ararat or Stawell and the Halls Gap tourist centre is located within the National Park itself. The nearby regions surrounding the Grampians National Park are just as spectacular, with sweeping wheat fields and sheep farms dotting the landscape near Horsham and Nhill, and green arable beef and dairy farms near Hamilton. The eastern areas consist of primarily red wine vineyards, while the number of large lakes and reservoirs in the area offer the chance to participate in water sports or leisure pursuits. This gorgeous area really does have it all!
